I was approached by Inspired Homes, a newly formed property developer, to design and create their identity, branding, stationery and website. They wanted to create an iconic brand that would be implemented consistently across print, web and digital media.
The brief allowed for complete creative freedom when it came to designing the logo and branding, so I jumped at the opportunity to work on the project.
I started the project focussing on the design concepts for the Inspired Homes’ identity. They wanted the logo to align with their vision for the company, and as such it had to convey their values of trust, quality and integrity. After a week of researching, sketching and illustrating a number of different ideas, we decided upon what was the clear-cut winner of the the logo concepts.
The resulting logo is based on the ‘i’ and ‘H’ from the name, Inspired Homes. The ‘i’ is reversed out of the ‘H’ to look like a house with a doorway and window. A shape was added at a 45 degree angle to represent an open door – which symbolises what the company does and reinforces the welcoming nature their brand and values. It is simple, bold, welcoming, friendly and aspiring.
After the logo, I created a full set of stationery for the Inspired Homes team to allow them to get on with their daily communications – which were now fully branded to start building on their brand awareness. I focussed on their website afterwards, which I started by finding out exactly what functionality, features and information they wanted to have implemented on the site. From this, I then created a site structure with wireframe layouts for each type of page template required on the site.
Once I had all the feedback and the structure and wireframes were agreed upon, I finalised the look and feel of the design and layouts. After establishing the design of the website, I developed it into a functional website and integrated Perch Content Management System – allowing the team to update all the content on the site easily.
The end result gave the Inspired Homes team an iconic and memorable brand identity that has been implemented consistently over their stationery, printed material and website.
The website allows them to update all content quickly and easily, giving them complete control over all current and future housing development areas and individual plots. The website has been coded responsively, ensuring that it looks great and functions smoothly on any device it is viewed on.
